So, you want ABS?

So, you want Abs? Whether you were looking for killer abs or a higher level of health here is where you start.  

First let's talk about the kitchen, yes, it's the truth abs are made in the kitchen. If you were not eating well it does not matter how many crunches you do or how many miles you run you cannot out run a bad diet. So make sure you are eating plenty of protein, staying away from processed foods and sugars and eating plenty of colorful fruits and vegetables. Logging your nutrition will help get to your goal faster. This way you can see how your body responds based off the calories you're eating.  Then you can make an informed decision whether to increase or decrease your calories. 

Now let's talk training. HIIT (high intensity interval training) training is always a go to for me.  This yields the greatest result in the shortest amount of time. By increasing your intensity during your workout in short bursts this will not only increase your fitness level but also will stimulate your metabolism for many hours beyond the work out.  Although a long run burns many calories soon after you are done so is the fire that burns fat. So, the good news is keep it short the better news is go fast and hard (based off your ability) and get it over with. 

 Finally understanding there is no one way to train perfect. The only perfect way is every way. So constantly very everything you do from cardio, weightlifting, plyometrics, core work, and the list goes on and on. Train as often as you can every week while giving yourself at least one full day off to recover.
