Importance of Hydration

So how is an important is hydration?  Water is only the number one substance our body needs. Our body is roughly 65% water and every cell in our body need H2O. With stats like muscle is 70% water bone is over 30% water and your brain and heart is 65% water we can all agree  water is crucial to our existence. Water regulates your body temperature and lubricates your joints. It helps transport nutrients to give you energy and keep you healthy. If you're not hydrated, your body can't perform or function optimally.

Now that we have the basic understanding of what water does for us let's use it to our advantage.  Whether you are suffering from a headache, muscle cramps, dizziness, insomnia, low-energy the list goes on and on.  I can never say it enough to hydrate more. We like to use a basic calculation of .5 ounces per pound of body weight, if you're exercising or it's in the hotter months of the year you should increase this calculation to .75 ounces per pound of body weight (we emphasize this is a general Calculation based off of decades of experience). So, if you want to feel better, lose weight, increase muscle or increase and support your overall health stay hydrated.

You should try to measure your water daily to ensure you are getting enough water in also, to make drinking this amount easier I encourage drinking out of larger containers such as BPA Free Water Bottle. If you are drinking out of smaller glasses or bottles you'll tend to set up your water and drink much less than you expect.
Last as a rule of thumb your urine should be clear (or as close as possible). If your urine is dark yellow or even close to brown see you doctor. Dehydration is very serious and should not be ignored.
