I Love Burpees

If you have ever had the pleasure of falling to the ground and getting back up then jumping higher than you can reach only to do it again and again it is a movement you wish you never heard of but we cannot debate the benefits and effects of this awesome movement.

The Burpee was created by Royal H. Burpee who is a psychologist in New York City that invented the original four count movement that was designed to test fitness. He invented it to be a quick accurate way to evaluate/test and individual’s fitness.

The Burpee has evolved into a six-count movement which includes chest touching the floor and Full body extension with the jump. The original Burpee is now known more as a squat thrust nowadays because it lacks the push-up and jump component but what it does not lack is the ability to increase your fitness and improve your health.

This movement has stood the test of time no matter if you're at home working out to lose a few pounds or a world-class competitor, burpees should be a part of your training.  I believe this should be a minimum movement standard for anyone on the planet as falling and getting back up is common but to be able to do it in a fluid motion is athletic.

This one movement provides:

*Covenience/No Equipment Needed

*Boost to your Metabolism/Intensity is key!

*Full Body Workout/Hits you from Head to Toe

*Increase Strength/Cardio Capacity

There is an infinite number of scaling options to this movement so no matter somebody's background, ability, or bodyweight will matter. The benefits of this I leave you with this weather you are short on time, training many hours a week, we're just getting in the fitness make the Burpee a part of your weekly programming.  One of my favorite test no matter an athlete ability is five minutes of Burpee's for time, this will not only test and increase your fitness but also give you a benchmark of your own personal ability physically and mentally.  Please contact us with any questions regarding helping you improve your health and as always please keep the questions and suggestions coming.
